Prime Edmonton Real Estate - The long months of winter are gone, welcome the sunshine. Spring cleaning is done to clean out all the dust and staleness of winter. There's a fresh scent in the air, the birds are sweetly singing and the warm air is giving you renewed energy. And the idea of tackling spring cleaning—to spruce up the old nest—somehow doesn't seem as daunting when the weather turns nice. Every bit of home is scoured and cleaned; nothing is spared. Rugs, drapes, bedding, knick-knacks, floors, ceilings, everything gets a good cleaning.

To make the task fun and easy to tackle follow the tips mentioned to ensure a clean and neat home without breaking into sweat!

All rooms-

  1. Take it up room by room, top to bottom, inside out.

  2. Also, make small repairs wherever possible or hire someone to do the same.

  3. Dust before vacuuming or cleaning the floor. Try feather or lambswool dusters, especially extendable ones for reaching above window and door casings and into corners. Household rags are perfect for jobs requiring a damp cloth – natural fibres work best.

  4. Clean the exterior of the windows first using a brush or duster to clear out the dry debris, then using microfibre cloths and soapy water clean the windows. Do the same for the interior windows and window sills.

  5. Wash and clean the walls using cleaning solutions and a mop or cloth; start cleaning from the top and moving your way down.

  6. Unclutter the rooms using baskets.

  7. Organize items as per their frequency of use with the help of trays.

  8. Roll up the carpets or rugs and vacuum the floor beneath. Use vacuum for the carpets and rugs, with special attention on high traffic areas of the house and stains on the carpets. Hang rugs on a line and beat it with a broom to make it dust free.

  9. Depending on the curtain type; vacuum the heavy curtains. And for lace or sheer ones, wash them in the dryer.

  1. Wherever possible, move the appliances and vacuum under them. Wipe the outsides of the appliances as well.

  2. For cleaning stainless steel surfaces use a few drops of vegetable oil on a paper towel.

  3. For the fridge, remove all its contents outside and clean the inside of the fridge, shelves, drawers, with water and soap or a cleaner.

  4. For cleaning the cabinets, take up one cabinet at a time, removing all its contents and wiping the insides of the cabinet thoroughly.

  5. Scrub your kitchen floors with all purpose cleaning solutions or water and clean up with a mop.

  1. Scrub around faucets with bathroom cleaner and an old toothbrush to get rid of built-up soap scum.

  2. Take down shower curtains and plastic liner and wash them.

  3. Clean, wash and wipe cupboards, throwing away expired medicines and cosmetics you'll not use anymore.

  1. Clean the fabrics, wash the mattress pad, pillow coverings, and pillows (check the labels for specific laundering instructions).

  2. Do a second load with your bath mat, shower curtain, and even the curtain liner on the gentle cycle with color-safe bleach.

  3. Follow the instructions given for cleaning your mattresses.

  4. Clean out the cupboards and donate old clothes.

Whether you are a buyer or a seller, a neat and clean house always attracts and appeals to buyers. Usually, people start looking for new houses during spring or summers. It doesn't matter if you are selling your house or not, a clean house always keeps you and your family happy and cheerful.
